Congress to Negotiate \u2018Heroes Act\u2019 This Week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Employment expert discusses what small businesses can do when the funds run out\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.employco.com\/images\/blog\/Blog_COVID-19.png\" alt=\"COVID-19\" width=\"350\" height=\"233\" \/>Congress resumed yesterday and later this week it is expected that Mitch McConnell will begin negotiations of a new stimulus package of $1.3 trillion under the Heroes Act.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMcConnell says the stimulus needs to be approved by Congress by August. If it is not approved by the time the Senate returns in August, businesses may not get any relief next month, which could be the final straw for many struggling businesses,\u201d says Rob Wilson, employment expert and President of Employco USA, an employment solutions firm with locations across the country.<\/p>\n<p>A recent Goldman Sachs survey showed that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goldmansachs.com\/citizenship\/10000-small-businesses\/US\/infographic-round-two\/\">most small businesses<\/a> who received funds via the Paycheck Protection Program will run out of money by August.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEighty-four percent of small businesses are going to be out of PPP funds by the first week of next month,\u201d says Wilson. \u201cAnd only 16 percent of those businesses believe that they will be able to make payroll with their existing funds unless another round of loans is provided.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wilson says that the Goldman Sachs survey further reveals that most small businesses say that they have not been able to regain their customer base.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost small business owners say that COVID-19 has completely changed their day-to-day operations and that less than 75% of their pre-COVID revenue has returned,\u201d says Wilson. \u201cThe vast majority of employers surveyed said that they need another wave of PPP if they are going to stay afloat.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But right now, Wilson says, the possibility of more stimulus funds is up in the air.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf Congress can reach a deal on the Heroes Act in time, business owners may be able to get more PPP by the end of August or early September,\u201d says Wilson. \u201cBut if the Heroes Act doesn\u2019t go through in time, we could be looking at real devastation for many business owners, especially small business owners.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For more on this topic, please contact Rob Wilson at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:rwilson@thewilsoncompanies.com\">rwilson@thewilsoncompanies.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Employment expert discusses what small businesses can do when the funds run out\u00a0 Congress resumed yesterday and later this week it is expected that Mitch McConnell will begin negotiations of a new stimulus package of $1.3 trillion under the Heroes&hellip;  <\/p>\n<p class=\"more-link\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.employco.com\/blog\/2020\/07\/21\/can-businesses-get-more-ppp-congress-to-negotiate-heroes-act-this-week\/\">Continue reading <span class=\"meta-nav\">&rarr;<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_dont_email_post_to_subs":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[30,7],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-2979","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-coronavirus","category-hr-solutions"],"featured_image_src":null,"author_info":{"display_name":"Employco USA","author_link":"https:\/\/www.employco.com\/blog\/author\/employcousa\/"},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\r\n<title>Can Businesses Get More PPP?
