Employment solutions CEO discusses exclusive new workplace survey <\/em><\/p>\n

\"EmploycoJust in time for the start of the new fiscal year, a newly-released employee survey led by Employco USA offers a revealing portrait of the American workplace.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe surveyed 3,000 companies, which together employ over 10,000 employees,\u201d says Rob Wilson, President of Employco USA, a national employment solutions firm with locations around the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe made several key findings which illustrate how the workplace has changed since we returned to the \u2018new normal,\u2019 as well as findings which help to predict how things might<\/em> change in the coming months,\u201d says the employment trends expert.<\/p>\n

Most notably, says Wilson, is the fact that only 39% of employers are requiring their workers to mask up when on the job.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cConsidering how mask mandates have been reinstated in many areas, this was an interesting finding,\u201d says Wilson. \u201cWe believe that many of these companies are confident enough in their social distancing and other safety protocols that they don\u2019t feel the need to enforce mask-wearing constantly throughout the workday.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wilson also says that only 20% of companies are requiring their employees to get the COVID vaccines.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough many industries have issued vaccine mandates or considered doing so, the reality is that most mid-size and small companies just aren\u2019t ready to go that route,\u201d says Wilson. \u201cAnd for good reason: With workers so hard to come by, many employers are worried about frightening away talent with vaccine mandates or mask mandates.\u201d<\/p>\n

All told, Wilson says, the Employco 2021 Workplace Survey proves that most of us are just ready to get back to the old normal, not the new normal.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know that many employees like working remotely, and hope that working-from-home still continues to be the norm, but our survey shows that employers really dislike this possibility,\u201d says Wilson. \u201cOnly 9.5% of employers say that WFH employees are more productive than in-person workers, whereas the majority still believe that in-person workers are more productive.\u201d<\/p>\n
