As the name suggests, the purpose of this law is to disqualify individuals from unemployment benefits if they ghost possible employers, meaning they fail to respond to an offer of employment or appear for a previously scheduled job interview. The state then <a href=\"https:\/\/assembly.state.ny.us\/leg\/?default_fld=&amp;bn=S01326&amp;term=2023&amp;Summary=Y&amp;Actions=Y&amp;Text=Y&amp;Committee%26nbspVotes=Y&amp;Floor%26nbspVotes=Y#S01326\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">amended <\/a>the new law, on March 3, 2023, to clarify which jobs and advertisements will be affected.
