The deadline to file 2024 EEO-1 Reports is <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">June 24, 2025<\/mark><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>EEO-1 Overview<\/strong> &#8211; The EEO-1 Report is a federally mandated survey that collects workforce data categorized by race, ethnicity, sex, and job category. Under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, covered employers must usually submit EEO-1 Reports by March 31. However, the EEOC pushed the deadline for 2024 EEO-1 Reports to June 24, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Covered Entities<\/strong> &#8211; The following entities are subject to EEO-1 reporting:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A private employer that has 100 or more employees (with limited exceptions for schools and other organizations);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A private employer with between 15 and 99 employees, if it is part of a group of employers that legally constitutes a single enterprise that employs a total of 100 or more employees; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A federal contractor that has 50 or more employees, is either a prime contractor or first-tier subcontractor, and has a contract, subcontract, or purchase order amounting to $50,000 or more.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Removal of Nonbinary Reporting Option<\/strong> &#8211; In prior EEOC instructions, covered entities could voluntarily report the number of employees who self-reported as nonbinary when indicating their sex. The 2024 EEO-1 instructions remove this option and require employers to report each employee\u2019s sex as either male or female.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Employer Takeaways<\/strong> &#8211; Employers subject to EEO-1 reporting requirements should begin submitting 2024 EEO-1 data in the portal and complete their submissions by June 24, 2025. Employers may also review the following for additional information:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>EEOC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eeoc.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">home page<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/eeocdata.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">website dedicated to EEO data collection<\/a>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eeocdata.org\/pdfs\/2024_EEO_1_Component_1_Instruction_Booklet.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2024 EEO-1 Component 1 Instruction Booklet<\/a>; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eeocdata.org\/pdfs\/2024_EEO_1_Component_1_Data_File_Upload_Specifications.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2024 Component 1 Data File Upload Specifications<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#046240\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Employco<\/mark><\/strong> provides a service (at no additional cost) to help its clients with the covered entity status determination, report preparation, and initial website data input. The EEOC\u2019s online filer help desk is available starting May 20, 2025, to assist filers with any questions they may have regarding the 2024 collection.\u00a0Although the EEOC sends electronic notifications to employers it knows to be subject to the EEO-1 requirements, all employers are responsible for obtaining and submitting the necessary information prior to the deadline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The portal for employers to submit 2024 EEO-1 Reports to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) opened on May 20, 2025.
