Trump\u2019s decision will impact average American\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-597\" src=\"http:\/\/www.employco.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/birth-control2-300x177.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"177\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.employco.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/birth-control2-300x177.png 300w, https:\/\/www.employco.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/birth-control2-768x452.png 768w, https:\/\/www.employco.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/birth-control2-611x360.png 611w, https:\/\/www.employco.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/birth-control2.png 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Many people are concerned that their employers are going to opt against paying for birth control now that President Trump has taken steps to reverse the federal mandate requiring companies to do so.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHeadlines across the country have frightened people into thinking that their companies are no longer going to pay for their contraception,\u201d says Rob Wilson, President of Employco USA and group insurance expert. \u201cThankfully, this is going to be unlikely across the board.\u00a0 Even before President Obama used the Affordable Care Act to require employers to pay for birth control for employees, 9 out of 10 companies already did so.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Essentially, the ruling just allows for people to opt against covering contraceptive costs if it challenges their religious beliefs, however, the number of employers who fall in this category will be small, says Wilson. And, he says changes are even less likely when it comes to big firms.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom a business standpoint, it\u2019s wise to provide affordable contraception options to your workers,\u201d says Wilson. \u201cAfter all, birth control is much less expensive than the cost of pregnancy and delivering a baby, not to mention family leave.
