Jared Polis signed <a href=\"https:\/\/leg.colorado.gov\/bills\/SB26-189\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Senate Bill 26-189<\/a> (SB 26-189), the Colorado Artificial Intelligence Act (CO AI Act), which significantly amends the state\u2019s original AI law (SB 24-205) with a streamlined framework centered on transparency, disclosure and targeted consumer protections. SB 26-189 applies to employers doing business in Colorado that use automated decision-making technology to materially influence consequential employment decisions. The law explicitly states that the Colorado state reporting will be required even if the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) ends federal EEO-1 reporting.
