Delaware Releases New Regulations for PFML Program – The Delaware Department of Labor has issued a second round of regulations for the state’s paid family and medical leave (PFML) program, which will begin providing leave benefits on Jan. 1, 2026.

Maryland Issues FAQs for Family and Medical Leave Insurance – The Maryland Department of Labor has issued answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs) from employers about the state’s family and medical leave insurance (FAMLI) program. In an introduction, the department states that the FAQs are subject to change in light of pending legislation proposing amendments to the program and while FAMLI regulations are in progress.

Washington State Expands Paid Sick Leave – On March 28, 2024, Washington Gov. Jay Inslee signed into law a bill expanding the definition of “family member” in the state’s paid sick leave law and adding to the qualified reasons for leave under the law. The changes take effect on Jan. 1, 2025.
